Oh my god.

I'm going to Paris.

"Childhood obesity is the biggest problem facing Americans today. In fact, more children are fatter today than ever before.
On a good note, less children are running away from home."

I love Chelsea Lately.

Family trip to California is planned! Also, we need to figure out Vegas.

[15 Apr 2009|09:35pm]

So yesterday there was an episode of What I Like About You on. (Don't make fun of me. I didn't even watch the whole thing)
But Jennie Garth's character has this thing where if a guy shows interest and seems perfectly fine, she picks out one small thing about him that ruins the whole deal. Like, Bob or whatever was an wonderful guy who just so happened to have a nasty big toe and Joe was great except for the fact that he wore a ring on his pinky finger that was so gross to her.

And then, I had a revelation.
I am Jennie Garth.

For what it’s worth, it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit… start whenever you want… you can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that stop you. I hope you feel things that you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.

-The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

I've been contemplating something that would be quite life-changing. I need to weigh the pros and cons, but I'll dream for the time being.

I need help with my linguistics project.
If you feel like helping, then you're awesome.
If not, then I don't know why we're friends.

Oh my god.
A girl just sneeze 27 times in a row.

That is all.

So my spring break was basically pretty uneventful compared to people's stories of Mexico and California.
But how many of them can say that they went to the zoo with 3 of their besties?

Grease was actually really really cute.
I was really surprised by how good it was, and I hate to sound dumb, but I'm proud of them.

Cute boy from the bus and I had a 2 hour long conversation. Yeah, I don't know how that happened either.
He's really smart and funny. And get this, he's 1/2 Irish and 1/2 Black.
When he told me that, I laughed out loud because Shion literally asked me the day before whether black Irish people exist.
What's even weirder is that he looks Italian or Spanish.
Oh well, with my luck, he either has a girlfriend or plays for the other team.

Speaking of which, I met George Takei. If you didn't get that transition, then here you go.
My mom took a group of her Japanese students to Little Tokyo in LA, and there happened to be a sneak preview of a documentary by Ken Burns at the museum we visited.
So many kids didn't know who he was. I'd say "Star Trek? The Asian guy? Hiro's dad from Heroes?" and they'd still draw a blank.
HA. Made it easier for me to meet him since nobody knew.

On a serious note, I never fully grasped the magnitude of the internment of Japanese-Americans.
I thought I understood a decent amount of it, but until you see the pictures and hear stories from those who were interned, it's hard to get the full idea.
What's even more upsetting to me is the fact that the 442nd Regiment (which was basically made up of all Japanese-Americans), volunteered to fight even though they were literally stripped of any rights as a citizen.
One lady talked about how her older brother volunteered to fight and was killed in action. Her mom got the news while they were in an internment camp, so the gist was "We regret to inform you that your son has died while fighting for his our country. Now please, go back to your barracks".

So anyways, we left yesterday at 5 in the morning, left LA at 8, got back here at 2:30 this morning.
Aaaaand I slept a grand total of 6 hours yesterday/today and I won't be getting home from school until 9 tonight.
Oh. I have an exam at 9 tomorrow morning.
FAIL.

YES.

I got my job at Sakana back.
I was so scared to ask today that when I went to go drink miso soup, my hand was shaking.
And it didn't help that Yoshie was in a super bad mood. Apparently she's become a hard-ass when it comes to supervising, probably because Jun really isn't around and people assumed she would be really lenient.

But she said I could start serving once summer starts.
YES! MONEY!!!!!!!!

P.S.
Asians dominated America's Best Dance Crew again.
My mom thinks I should marry Victor from Quest Crew. And I agree.

[04 Mar 2009|06:29pm]
So I've registered for next year and OH MY GOODNESS I am satisfied.
I'm taking 3 300-level classes though, so we'll see.

2 cute boys from my bus have approached me.
Approached sounds kinda creeper-ish.
But the point of this story is that I don't feel unapproachable!

Guess who's not doing anything during spring break?

So New York.
If we changed the dates to after we all get out of school, would you all be down?
My estimates right now for airfare + hotel is $500- and that's worst-case scenario.
PLLLLLEEEEEASSSEEEEE say you'll do it.

ALSO: Who is watching the musical at Goldwater?

A boy just passed by me riding a Razor scooter.
In the library.

Amanda and Monica- it's already in the 80's here.
I'm not quite sure if that should make you or me jealous.

This is the reason why I wish I came from a cooler heritage.

Oh wait, this too.

[22 Feb 2009|12:57pm]
So in order to make some well-educated guesses as to who will win tonight, I watched some of the front-runners online.
Yes, I pirate movies and I love it.

Best Picture: Slumdog. No questions
Best Actress: Kate Winslet
Best Actor: Sean Penn. Well, atleast I hope. It will probably end up being Mickey Rourke
Best Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger
Best Supporting Actress: Viola Davis was so so so good. But once again, it'll probably end up going to Penelope Cruz.

A year ago today, I woke up in L.A. and went to the Kodak Theatre to take a whole bunch of pictures after my audition at UCLA.
It's weird how time goes by so fast, and even weirder is how my "life plan" has changed.

P.S.
I watched Grease for the first time in like 5 or 6 years yesterday.
Who were the producers and director kidding when they cast that one motorcycle guy with the acne scarring? How many high schoolers look like they're 45?

The end of the world must be near.
I just sat for 3 1/2 hours watching the Cardinals/Eagles game and actually enjoyed and understood it.

I found a round-trip ticket to London for $700.
Just throwing that out there for anybody who'd be interested in Europe this summer.

P.S.
All of you should be. :]

1. I went on a downloading rampage on Thursday. Adele's CD is so so so good. As is The Killers, but it has this really weird vibe to it.

2. I took my Econ final with 2 hours of sleep.

3. I want to know the whole situation about getting presents for everyone. Secret Santa or we all just gift eachother? I'm kind of liking the latter, but I understand that because we are all poor college kids why we wouldn't. Which brings me to.....

4. I went to Sakana the other night after they closed to ask about working there during the holidays. Jun and Yoshie had told me that I was always welcome, but that was before the economy became shittastic. Long story short, I don't have a job right now and I'm going to have to hunt. :[ Which leads me to....

5. I quit Forever 21 after 5 days of work. DGAF

6. Who knew that jump-roping made your back ache? Oh well. Feel the burn.

7. Guess what my guilty pleasure is? If you guessed Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives..... then you are correct.

8. And I will leave you with this. I shall add it to my Legolas  Orlando Bloom doll from 8th grade.

9. Wait. You and I need to figure out when we're going to see eachother next. This is aimed most at Hannah and the Naheavesdropper. But it's also aimed at the whole girls' night thing.
